Fay Petcher
BACP registered Integrative Counsellor and Divorce and Relationship Coach.
Specialist in couples therapy, divorce and infidelity.
Author and EFT Practitioner.
For when you need support to make positive changes in your life.
Hi my name is Fay. I am an integrative counsellor, holistic relationship and divorce coach, EFT and mental health practitioner and author. I specialise in separation and divorce, relationship trauma, abandonment, emotional and narcissistic abuse and infidelity recovery. I also work with other life changes like bereavement, illness, job loss, mental health concerns, family problems, menopause, sexual orientation, sexual abuse and work life balance. I offer both individual and couples therapy.
I have lived and worked in Burton and the surrounding areas all of my life and have 2 children. I love walking, yoga, open water swimming, reading and travelling (when I get the time!!).
I have been through many life changes including divorce, abuse, infidelity, career change, chronic illness and mental health problems. I know how difficult and challenging it can be to move forward when you feel stuck and in a place of hopelessness.
After many years in education, I decided to train as divorce coach and set up Feel Positive Coaching. A couple of years later I went on to train as an integrative counsellor which enables me to tailor make sessions for each client.
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for people (adults, couples and young people) to be truly heard and begin to explore their worries and concerns. I am passionate about supporting people to grow in awareness, gain control of their lives and begin to take the first steps towards positive change.
It is really important to find a therapist who suits you and that is why I offer all prospective clients a free discovery call to find out how I can support you and if I am the right therapist for you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Fay
Helping you take the first steps to living a new and fulfilling life
Life can sometimes be tough, and difficult to navigate.
It can help to know that someone is supporting you to get clarity, grow in awareness, find your inner strength, grow in confidence and make positive changes to become the best version of ‘you’!
Carl Rogers
I believe that everyone has the right to feel positive, be happy and live the life that they have always wanted.
Going through a break-up, separation and divorce is one of the most stressful and painful things you can go through.
Everyone experiences a breakup differently and will struggle with different things and different emotions at different times. It can seem like an uphill struggle, especially if you can’t see things getting any better or feel you have taken a step back.
The good news is, there is no set time to get over a break-up and its ok to feel the way that you do.
Finding yourself in the midst of a break-up (even if you didn’t want to be there) can be overwhelming but is also an amazing opportunity to grow, learn more about yourself, become the person that you want to be and live the life that you want.
I am passionate and committed about helping people move forward in a positive way, gain control, banish negativity and start feeling energised and excited about their future.

Counselling and Coaching are often put together in the same box. However, even though they both share similarities, they offer different things.
Counselling helps people with issues like human development, sexuality, family dynamics, past traumas and mental health conditions through active listening and skills such as open and closed questioning, congruence and empathy. Counselling enables the client to recognise and find the solution to their problems in order to gain clarity and begin to move along the change continuum.
Coaching tends to focus on the present and future rather then the past. Coaches help people to deal with any obstacles they are currently facing and to move forward by identifying their goals through a series of motivational exercises and discussions. Coaching provides both guidance and support and places a greater emphasis on accountability, by helping people to make positive changes to their life quicker than if they were doing it on their own.
