Setbacks and Survival
My first blog in what seems like ages. Over the past few months I’ve suffered a series of setbacks in both my family and business life.
Even though it was frustrating at the time, I had to prioritise what needed to be done and that meant that some things, like my blog had to take a back seat.
I felt guilty at first and a little angry, but all the setbacks I suffered where out of my control. I just had to sit back, be patient, take each day at a time and do the best that I could.
I had to start from scratch and rebrand again. However, it has ended up being the best thing that could have ever happened to me.
I now have an amazing website, built by an amazing designer. I have all the things I need to build my business and be visible. All my hard work has paid off.
This has made me realise that sometimes, setbacks are in fact the nudge we need to make better and positive changes.
This was certainly true when I found myself single for the second time, with 2 children and 2 marriages under my belt. It was the push I needed to make positive changes to my life.
Yes, it was hard, Yes, it took time. Yes, I had many setbacks, Yes, it took some soul searching to find out about the person that I was and what I wanted out of life.
But I can honestly say I don’t regret a thing, I have made some fantastic friends, challenged myself. Experienced many wonderful things and met some inspirational people along the way. I can say that I love my life and what I do.
Tomorrow I am abseiling down a cathedral to raise money for a children’s hospice. I would never have done that when I was married.
So, all I can say is if any more setbacks come my way, I am going to welcome them with open arms with the knowledge that I will overcome them!!
